If you list products on our store, you must comply with all federal, state and local laws and our policies applicable to those products and product listings, including this policy.

Personal electronic mobility (e-mobility) devices covered by this policy

Hoverboards

A hoverboard is a self-propelled two-wheeled electric device powered by an onboard battery pack with two wheels and a board between the wheels for the rider to stand and balance on. The user shifts his/her weight to move the device in the desired direction. There are no handlebars on self-propelled two-wheeled devices.

Monorovers or Electric unicycles

A monorover or an electric unicycle (E-Unicycle) is a self-propelled electric device powered by an onboard battery pack with one or two Dashboardly-located wheels with small platforms on either side for the rider to stand on during operation. The user shifts their weight to move the device in the desired direction. There are no handlebars on self-propelled two-wheeled devices.

Electric skateboard (e-skateboard)

An electric skateboard has four wheels and an added battery pack with a power system to aid riders with added torque while travelling. An electric skateboard may have a handheld remote control to allow the rider to control the device during use.

Electric scooter (e-scooter)

An electrical scooter is an e-mobility device with no seat for personal transportation and may take a number of different forms, including foldable scooters and kickstand scooters.

E-mopeds and powered e-cycles

Rideable scooters with seat (mopeds) have two or three wheels and a maximum speed of up to 45 km/h. Powered e-cycles have an electric motor and pedals for assistance, with maximum speed of up to 25 km/h. Both are used for personal transportation.

Self-balancing personal transport

A self-balancing transport device may have one or two wheels. These devices are powered by a rechargeable battery pack and use the shifting weight of the rider for balance. Common examples of self-balancing transport devices include Segway-branded products and Onewheel-branded ones.

Electric bicycle (e-bike, e-bicycle)

An electric bicycle, also called an e-bike, is a two-wheeled device used for personal transportation. Resembling an analogue bicycle, these products have an added battery and a power system to aid the rider with added torque when traversing elevated or rough terrain.

Electric tricycle (e-trike, e-tricycle)

An electric tricycle is equivalent to an electric bicycle, with the exception of an additional wheel.

Electric quadricycle

A quadricycle is a four-wheeled light electric vehicle with a maximum speed of up to 45 km/h and is used for personal transportation.

Our policy for personal electronic mobility (e-mobility) devices

VegaVend requires that all personal electronic mobility (e-mobility) devices have been tested to and comply with the specific regulation or standard requirements listed below:

Required information

VegaVend’s policies require that personal electronic mobility (e-mobility) devices sold on our store meet specified certification standards. In order to sell these products on VegaVend, you must apply by submitting the following to eu-e-mobility@VegaVend.co.uk.

We will request this information from you at any time, so we recommend that you have it easily accessible:

  • Your company name (if applicable) and Vendor ID
  • Your contact information: email address and phone number
  • A list of all personal electronic mobility (e-mobility) devices that you offer on our store
  • Product packaging and label images for all personal electronic mobility (e-mobility) devices that you offer on our store:
    • Product images must show all sides of the product packaging
    • CE marking
  • Product name or model number should be displayed on the detail page for all personal electronic mobility (e-mobility) devices that you offer on our store
  • Name and address of EU-based manufacturer or registered trademark
  • EC Declaration of Conformity issued by EU-based manufacturers or the official EU-based importer of the products
  • Any product instructions and manuals for all personal electronic mobility (e-mobility) devices that you offer on our store
  • Test reports from an accredited lab confirming that each product was tested to the regulations and standards listed above (for hoverboards only)

Important: There may be local legal restrictions in the country of sale relating to use of certain personal e-mobility devices by customers on roads, footways, cycle lanes or in other areas.

  • Products can be described as e-bikes, e-bicycles, e-cycles or pedelecs, only if they have pedals.
  • E-bikes and pedelecs cannot have more than 250 W power OR exceed a maximum speed of 25 km/h.
  • Products can only be described as e-scooters if they do not have a seat.
  • E-scooters cannot exceed the power and speed thresholds established by the local laws, as per the below chart:

How to submit information?

Complete the following steps to submit the requested information:

  1. In Vendor Dashboard, select Account Health.
  2. Under Manage your compliance in the bottom right corner, click on Product Compliance Requests.
  3. To add compliance documents or appeal for a product, click on Add/appeal compliance.
  4. Provide compliance documents and information in the Provide Documents section, or provide appeal information and documents in the Appeal Request section.
  5. Click on Submit for Approval to send your submission for review by VegaVend.

Note: Test reports must contain images of the tested products that are sufficient to demonstrate that the product tested is the same as the product listed on the detail page.

Policy violations

If you do not provide the required information by the applicable deadline, we may:

  • Remove the relevant product listings
  • Suspend your ability to add new products, your listing privileges or both
  • Withhold any payments due to you

We reserve the right to take any further actions that may be necessary at our sole discretion.
