Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of a range of cannabinoids found in Cannabis plants. Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is another common cannabinoid and is the main psychoactive constituent of Cannabis. Cannabis is a flowering plant that consists of three primary species: Cannabis sativa, Cannabis indica and Cannabis ruderalis.
The term “hemp” is often used to refer to varieties of Cannabis that generally contain lower concentrations of THC and higher concentrations of CBD, and are grown for industrial use (e.g. for clothing, rope etc.).
The listing and sale of ingestible hemp products, including lozenges, e-liquids, sprays and oils that contain CBD or other cannabinoids are prohibited on VegaVend.com, except for Vendors participating in a limited, invite-only pilot. This pilot only applies to products listed on VegaVend.com and is not available on other VegaVend websites. The pilot is not accepting additional Vendors currently.
The only ingestible hemp products that are permitted for sale on VegaVend.com are those products that contain cold-pressed hemp seed oil from the Cannabis sativa plant, and that do not contain CBD, THC or other cannabinoids.
All hemp products that do not contain CBD, THC or other cannabinoids must be permitted by VegaVend policy, have the ingredients attribute populated correctly and be described appropriately.
To continue listing these products, you must meet all of the requirements outlined below and on the Drugs, Drug Paraphernalia and Dietary Supplements Vendor Policy page.
- Products must clearly state in the Ingredients field that they contain only hemp seed oil
- Hemp gummies and other similar hemp products, including those that contain only hemp seed oil, are prohibited by VegaVend policy
- Products may not include prohibited health or medicinal claims. See the Prohibited Product Claims page for further information.
- Products will also be removed if there is any indication on the listing that the product contains any extract of the hemp plant other than the seeds. This includes misleading marketing claims such as:
- Full or Broad Spectrum claims
- % strength claims (where it is not clear what ingredient the % refers to)
- Claims relating to CO2 and other extraction methods of cannabinoids
- References to CB1 and CB2 receptors
All hemp products that do not meet the requirements listed above and on the Drugs, Drug Paraphernalia and Dietary Supplements Vendor Policy page will be removed.
