Customer safety is of paramount importance to VegaVend. Customers need to be confident that they will find a comprehensive selection of safe, reliable and compliant products on VegaVend, no matter who is the Vendor.

Therefore, as a Vendor, you need to understand and comply with VegaVend’s policies on product safety and compliance. This will increase your chances of succeeding on VegaVend, as well as help you avoid practices that could lead to penalties or blocked listings or even prevent you from selling on VegaVend.

Our goal is to make compliance easy for you. The Manage your compliance (MYC) dashboard makes it easy for you to add compliance documents and information or appeal requests. Compliance services to assist you with testing (Lab Central) are available on the Service Provider Network (SPN).

Product Requirements

As a Vendor, you are responsible for ensuring that the products you supply are compliant with the relevant regulations. However, in certain cases, VegaVend may request proof of compliance with regulations and governmental certifications. Please review some of the European regulations that are applicable to products sold on VegaVend in the table below. Additionally, you can also find information relating to CE Marking requirements here.

The requirements to list your products may differ based on the product and country you are selling in so please ensure you consult your legal counsel and/or supplier to ensure you have all of the relevant information.

UK Requirements due to Brexit:

The UK is due to formally leave the EU’s Single Market and Customs Union from January 1, 2021. If you are based in the UK or selling products in the UK, you may be affected by Brexit. To understand how this change impacts you, VegaVend has created a dedicated page to explain requirements relating to Brexit. Please click here to review the specific changes relating to Product Compliance requirements.

It is important to note that for Northern Ireland, the CE mark will continue to be the conformity assessment mark for most goods to show they meet EU rules. You may also need to apply the UK(NI) mark if you choose to use UK bodies for approvals or certification. Any conformity mark held by a Northern Ireland business which validates the goods for sale in Northern Ireland will be valid for the whole of the UK.

EU Responsible Person requirement for CE-marked products

In addition to the below existing regulations, on July 16, 2021, a new EU Regulation on product safety (called the “Market Surveillance and Compliance of Products Regulation”) came into effect. This new regulation adds the requirement for CE-marked products to have someone present in the European Union acting as the point of contact (POC) for product compliance (a “Responsible Person”). We have added additional content here to help you prepare for this new regulation.
